I'm blogging like it's 1999.

There aren't any good reasons—and, at the same time, there are lots of good reasons—why I haven't blogged in ages. Maybe I'll write about it all sometime. For now, here's just some old-school (i.e., short links that interested me) blogging for you:
  • What would the quadratic formula look like if the IRS had discovered it? Well, this (link via Dustbury). Freaking brilliant.

  • The CIA World Fact Book has been freshly updated. What's new? Well, Akrotiri and Dhekelia are. It doesn't get much more obscure than that....

  • I love the sights (and sounds) of pool, so this Zone IX pic made me smile.

  • Today's New York Times article on bride abductions in Kyrgyzstan is fascinating and, of course, disturbing.

  • Even though the season is over, I'm thrilled to have stumbled onto a well-done curling blog (hat tip: The Sports Economist). Now if I could just find more curling on TV....

  • Harley at Royals Baseball is taking a hiatus, so I'm spending time at another KC Royals blog—The Daily Lancer (link via—yes, again—The Sports Economist). It's tough being a Royals fan these days, of course. Happily, though, the Royals today ended a serious losing streak.
